When Does Fallout 5 Come Out?

As of the time of writing, there is currently no concrete release date for Fallout 5. However, in a recent interview with IGN, Bethesda Studios’ director and executive producer Todd Howard shed some light on when the much-anticipated open-world FPS will launch. Per IGN: As you can see, according to Howard, the plan at the moment is to release Fallout 5 after Elder Scrolls 6. The thing is, Elder Scrolls 6 currently doesn’t have a concrete release date, either. Howard has confirmed that work on Starfield began in 2015. That game is scheduled to launch in the first half of 2023. In other words, from pre-production to its full-fledged release, Starfield will have taken the studio just under eight years to complete.

Speculative Release Date for Fallout 5

If we were to assume that pre-production on Elder Scrolls 6 began in 2018 (the year it was announced), a possible 2026 release is plausible. As a result, if Elder Scrolls 6 indeed releases in 2026, pre-production will likely begin on Fallout 5 a few years prior, which will mean that Fallout 5 could be coming somewhere after 2030 and beyond. To be clear, this is all purely speculative. Ultimately, the crux of the matter is this: Bethesda Studios plans on releasing Fallout 5 after they’ve released Elder Scrolls 6. Of course, as soon as we hear anything more, we’ll make sure to update this post to help keep you in the loop. So, there you have it. We hope this clued you in on Fallout 5’s possible release date.
